SUSAN T. MARTIN, FINE ARTIST
ABOUT: Susan is an accomplished fine artist of extraordinary sensitivity and insight. As an artist with Bipolar Disorder, Susan has a unique perspective. She uses her art practice, not only to create intricate tableaus and biographical pieces, but also as a therapeutic outlet for flashbacks and manic episodes. In 7 consecutive annual INSIGHTS exhibitions Susan’s art won grants and a place in the permanent collection of The Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation who fund research for early detection of Bipolar Disorder in children. Susan had the honor of her winning painting in 2023 gracing the cover of Palm Beach Society Magazine’s Holiday Edition, as well as being the Special Guest of The RLS Foundation at the INSIGHTS VI Exhibition held at The Surovek Gallery in Palm Beach.
Susan appears in a PBS Broadcasting Special, describing her creative process as an artist living with Bipolar Disorder. A survivor of assault and domestic violence, she fearlessly shares her story to help others break free from these situations and find their path forward.
She lives contentedly on Florida’s Gulf Coast with a rescue crew of four cats, and her beloved Shih Tzu, Kleo.
